Opportunities for Involvement

Are you looking for a way to give back and make and impact in the community? Community Tax Centers has the perfect opportunity for you. We are in need of tax preparers, greeters, translators, saving coaches and street team reps to assist us for the upcoming tax season. We’ll cover everything you need to know and provide all of the training you will need to become IRS certified. We also provide support for you with on-site staff to assist you throughout the tax season. Some of our volunteer roles, such as CTC Greeters and Translator, do not require tax law certification.

WE NEED YOU!

TAX PREPARER

Work directly with families to file their tax returns at one of our tax centers. Tax Preparers walk clients through the tax preparation process and prepare returns using our tax software. We teach you everything you need to know in a required IRS training, which can be completed in a classroom or at your own pace online. After training, volunteers become IRS certified and are able to start filing returns!

GREETER

As the first person a taxpayer encounters, the Greeter welcomes clients to the tax center, screens for eligibility and preparedness, collects documents, and assembles the information necessary for the Tax Preparer to complete the tax return in an efficient manner. The Greeter plays a critical role in ensuring that clients have a quality experience. Volunteers will participate in a required training online to become certified.

58% of Community Tax Center clients speak only Spanish!  We are in great need of bilingual volunteers to help clients and our volunteer tax preparers communicate effectively.
